Weighted Vest Training


Weighted vest training, in other words training while wearing a weighted vest is a superb way to enhance your training. The feeling about weighted vest training is that it is for the hard core trainers only. And to be honest weighted training vests did carry this belief for a while. But it’s simply not true.

Weighted vest training is for everyone regardless of your level of fitness. If you’ve got images of weighted vests only being used by super fit athletes forget them. I use weighted vests with all my clients whatever their fitness level.

You can wear a weighted vest while out for a walk and you will benefit from the additional weight you are carrying around with you. Don’t imagine that the weights in the vests are back breaking heavy. This is simply not true, you can add as little weight as you like, a few pounds will add to your training intensity.

Wearing a weighted vest will increase the energy required to make simple movements. This in turn will improve your cardio vascular strength. Your fitness level will improve faster by wearing a vest. Wear a weighted vest even for stretching and feel the added effort required to complete your exercises.

A simple walk can become an excellent training exercise by wearing a vest with a few pounds added to it. Your body will build up a cardio vascular capacity taking into account the extra weight it is carrying. After training in a weighted vest, once you take it off you will feel fitter, lighter and faster.

It’d no secret that serious athletes and the armed forces have been using weighted training vests for years. A vest will make any exercise you do more challenging from a simple stretch to cycling or running. They can be worn for most activities. If you’re into power training wear a vest and feel the difference with squats and sprints.

If you are just doing more gentle exercises like a short walk, a vest will add a new dimension to your daily walk.

I wear a weighted vest for all my exercises and advise my clients to wear one too. The difference in the fitness levels of my clients is remarkable after a short time.

Don’t think weighted vests are just for super athletes, everyone can benefit from wearing one, whatever level you train at.
